Bishop Amiemenoghena Akhalamhe has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP for the September 19, 2020 Governorship Election in Edo State.
Bishop Akhalamhe was unanimously endorsed by the ZLP delegates across the eighteen Local Government Areas of Edo state at the governorship primaries held on Sunday, June 14, 2020 in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
The National Chairman of the party, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu who was represented by the Delta State chapter Chairman of the Party, Hon Emeka Nkwoala described Bishop Akhalamhe as a young, vibrant, intelligent, and focused man who is determined and ready to work for the restoration of the lost glory of Edo state.
The exercise was witnessed and monitored by the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Meanwhile, Mr Akhalamhe has picked Mr Thompson Osadolor as his running for the September 19, 2020 governorship Poll.
Speaking to newsmen after the primaries, Mr Akhalamhe promised to right the wrongs done to Edolites by previous administrations in Edo State.
” I will restore all the lost glory of our beloved state when elected by the good people of Edo State come September 19, 2020″ he promised.
ZLP is the first political party to conduct its primaries ahead of the Edo 2020 Governorship Election slated for September 19,2020 in the state.
