Oyo State Deputy Governor, Engr. Raufu Olaniyan, has debunked a claim by an online medium, that he had vowed never to settle rift with his boss, Governor Seyi Makinde.
In a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan, the state capital on Wednesday by Mr. Omolere Omoetan, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the deputy governor, it described the report as not only baseless, but a figment of the author’s imagination.
While stating unequivocally that he has no rift with the governor, the deputy governor added that even if there was, as a true Muslim, he would seek for resolution and not take a stand that was contrary to common sense as reported by Sahara Reporters.
Mr Olaniyan stressed he was committed to and would not be distracted from his mandate to work with His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State, to serve the people of Oyo State as the Deputy Governor
The number two man in Oyo state therefore urged the people to disregard the statement attributed to him by the phantom source quoted in the malicious report by Sahara reporters who, in recent times, had become notorious in the propagation of fake news.
Mr Olaniyan stressed he would continue to work assiduously with His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, to provide good governance to the people in line with governor’s ideals and vision.
He advised the forces working to cause disaffection between him and the governor to look for better things to do as their machinations and conspiracies had failed on arrival.
